Freshmen or Transfer
Undergraduate Admission Requirements- Steps
Step 1: Review UNM academic and scholarship options.
Step 2: Apply to UNM online and pay the $50 application fee.
Step 3: Submit your application. After we process your application, we will let you know what documents you need to submit. You should prepare to send official transcripts, graduation certificates (with translation, if necessary), and your English proficiency scores (if applicable) to our office. Step 4: After we have received and processed all your documents, you will receive your admission decision and will be notified if you have been nominated for any scholarships.
Step 5: Accept your admission offer and submit your financial documents. To receive your I-20 and schedule your visa appointment, you will need to show funding for your first year of study. Once we have your financial information, we will issue your I-20 and admission letter, which you will need to bring to your visa appointment.
Step 6: Schedule and attend your visa appointment.
Step 7: Finalize your travel plans and secure housing. Arrive on campus!

Graduate Admission Requirements- Steps
Step 1: Review your UNM graduate program details and scholarships/assistantship options.
Step 2: Apply to UNM online and pay the $70 application fee.
Step 3: Submit your Official English proficiency score, if needed. Once we have received your application, we will notify you via email if additional documents or information are needed. Your graduate department will review your application and make the final admission decision.

Step 4: Our office will contact you once a admission decision has been made. You will also be notified if you have been nominated for any scholarships and/or offered an assistantship.
